RANCH HAND
This full-time salaried position reports to the Ranch Manager. The CBR Ranch Hand requires a person with a strong work ethic and good time management. The position requires someone who can be dependable, committed to ranch work, can work independently, and works well with others. When working on a ranch, there will be times when the workday does not end on schedule due to animal and / or property demands. This person may work on their own during the day and feel comfortable with his/her skills and ability to work independently.
PRIMARY DUTIES
Feed horses three times a day.
Clean stalls, shelters, paddocks, and pastures twice a day.
Sweep, vacuum, and clean barn aisle ways daily.
Communicate to others by using Voxer (any equine changes or concerns, photos, etc.).
Oversee and execute stall cleanliness and needs (feeders, shelters, waterers, salt blocks, walls washed).
Oversee and manage hay and shavings storage.
Oversee vehicle and equipment maintenance, supplies and cleanliness.
Maintain inventory and cleanliness of upper and lower shop (tools, cleaning, auto, RV, etc.).
Assist with ranch safety and security protocols including fire suppression and planning.
Assist with vehicle and equipment maintenance, materials, and upkeep.
Assist with snow management, inventory of product and snow equipment maintenance.
Assist with pasture health and irrigation schedule.
Assist with compost units.
Assist with tasks and errands as needed.
Execute weekly garbage and recycling and janitorial duties as needed.
Responsible for accurate record keeping and expense reports.
Assist sub-contractors as needed.
Execute daily/weekly task list posted on the lower shop board.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Equine experience is preferable, but training is available.
Must be able to lift an 80 lbs bale of hay
Experience driving and using a UTV is preferred
Must have valid driver's license
Must be reliable
Must have good time management skills
AT HOME EQUINE ASSISTANT
This is a full-time, salaried position, reports to the Ranch Manager, requires a person with a strong knowledge of horses and a desire to work with them. The Equine Assistant will work directly with the Ranch Manager and Ranch Hands to complete tasks in an efficient and professional manner. The position requires someone who can be dependable and committed to the work. When working with animals, there will be times when the workday does not end on schedule due to animal and property demands. This person will work on their own many days and needs to feel comfortable with his/her skills and ability and must be proactive and take preemptive actions when needed.
PRIMARY DUTIES
Execute individual written horse health and fitness & rehab programs.
Execute duties per posted chart.
Manage blanket and other soft goods inventory.
Manage weekly equine related supply lists and give to the Ranch Manager for ordering.
Assist with individual horse nutrition plans.
Assist with a clean organized barn, rehab room.
Assist with saddling, unsaddling, and bathing.
Assist with foaling, mare and foal care as needed.
Assist with feeding and cleaning as needed.
Maintain open communication with CBR staff.
Maintain tack and therapy equipment in good, clean working condition.
Maintain accurate, individual notes using grease board and shared calendar.
Transport horses as needed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Must have valid drivers license.
Must have advanced equine experience.
Must be able to lift a 80 lbs bale of hay.
Must have experience driving UTV.
Must have horse hauling experience.
ON THE ROAD SHOW HELP
This full-time position will work independently and reports to the Show Horse Manager + CBR Trainer. Work days will vary due to the number of horses attending each show. Shows are scheduled in advance a minimum of 30 days prior to departure. This position requires someone with punctuality, good time management and great communication skills. Must be prepared to be gone 2-3 weeks at a time for shows. Must have a valid drivers license and high school diploma. Must have current passport. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Must gave a cell phone. Training will be conducted to anyone in this position and reviews given every 30 days for the first 90 days of employment.
SHOW TASKS
Assist with loading the show trailer in organized fashion.
Clean trailer out after each trip.
Assist with saddling, unsaddling, bathing, cooling out, hand walking, medicating.
Conduct stall bio-security prior to bedding stalls.
Execute minimum of 2 stall cleanings per day.
Manage stall blanket needs using CBR weather protocol.
Therapy per daily list (Ice, Bemer, Magnawave, Laser, Nebulizer, Thumper. Will provide training).
Wash cinches, boots, polos, hang to dry, and store daily.
Rake / sweep around stalls and trailers daily.
Keep ice boots clean.
Keep washer clean and free of standing water.
Maintain clean wash rack area.
Blanket every evening or as needed depending on weather.
Assist in wrapping and mudding legs in the evening prior to board.
Sweep and empty trash inside tack room daily.
Review schedule for next day every night.
Communicate shavings and hay needs before 12pm.
Therapy and care for the horses while home.
Maintain clean and organized stall bags.
Loping as needed.
SKILLS REQUIRED
Must take Magnawave and laser certification testing (provided by CBR)
Must have knowledge on the Bemer, Magnawave, and Laser.
Must have a valid drivers license
Must have horse hauling experience
